Giving your mind maps a personal look is great. Which is why we introduced Personal Themes. In this article, you'll learn how to create them and also what informations are kept and which are changed when you apply a theme on an existing document.
To create your own themes, create a new document with a main node, up to six child nodes and one connection. Set the colors and font to your liking, then select `Add Theme > Extract Theme`. This will save the style and it will now be available in the theme selection, where you can also choose a new name.
You can add existing themes and share your own themes with others. Select the gear icon underneath the theme for more options.
So if you create a new MindNode file using your Personal Theme everything will be exactly as you defined it.
But what exactly gets saved here into the theme? Or in other words: what does the theme remember to do?
For the main node:
For child nodes, it's a bit more complex:
The first child node determines
The color of the next up to five child nodes is also saved. Beginning with the seventh child node of a mind map the branch color will be an alternation of those colors.
For cross connections:
If a Personal Theme is created without a cross connection it by default will have a line as start point and an arrow as endpoint.
If you apply your Personal Theme (or any theme in general) to an existing MindNode file there are some things, that won't change as they may be important for the content and context of your mind map.
