Sometimes the way MindNode automatically places the nodes on the canvas is not the way you want or need them. This is why there's the Manual Layout option available! It gives you more freedom in how your mind maps look.
(Some of you may know the default behavior of MindNode 6 in placing nodes as Smart Layout. As that's what it was called in the first MindNode version: MindNode Pro.)
So now on to how to you enable Manual Layout:
macOS
Open the Style Inspector on the right of the MindNode window by clicking on the button with the little brush icon on it. At the bottom of the Inspector tick the box next to Manual Layout.
iOS
Select a node and open the Style tab in the floating Panel (it's marked with a little brush icon). At the bottom of the panel toggle the switch next to Manual Layout.
